A Peek Behind the Curtain

Sharing our process is something that I've been wanting to do for a while, but have always been "too busy" for. I'm realizing, as many small business owners do, that I'm getting busier the more my company grows and I need to make the time to do important things.

I want to show you how we operate. How we make the videos you see in our portfolio. What software we use, what techniques we employ, our strategies and philosophies we bring to the table as we translate complex information into exciting videos for our clients.

I hope that as I unveil our process it will do a few things

  1. It will help our clients and potential client see what they get for their money and give them confidence in the huge amount of work we put in to deliver a great solution

  2. It will help other individuals and businesses to learn from our experience and adopt the practices that would be useful in their own contexts

  3. It will help us to build a human business

This last point matters to me. There are millions of ways my clients could choose to present their complex information. There are thousands of video providers who eager to serve them. There are hundreds of whiteboard animation studios and freelancers in the world, but there is only one Godwin Media.

If sharing my process creates competition that could put me out of business - if other providers can steal my clients - then I never really won them in the first place. Would you replace your mom if you found someone who could cook a better Thanksgiving dinner? Of course not, that would be absurd. If you'd replace me, your whiteboard video provider just because you found someone who did roughly the same thing for cheaper - then I've failed to build a human relationship with you.

The most important thing that I can offer my clients is trustworthy service. This blog is a way of offering transparency that will hopefully build the kind of trust that's irreplaceable.
